Nawaz Sharif visits missing persons’ camps in Islamabad


Islamabad: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif on Friday visited a camp set up by the families of missing persons allegedly picked up by intelligence agencies.
Nawaz Sharif  accompanied by opposition leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Senator Ishaq Dar and other party leaders expressed solidarity with the families of missing persons. Senior journalist Hamid Meer was also present on the occasion.
The former prime minister met relatives of missing persons and expressed sympathy. He assured that he would do his level best to address their issues.
Speaking on the occasion Sharif said that he had asked Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to put a resolution in the parliament on the missing persons issue and expose the faces of those who opposed the resolution.
He applauded seasoned journalist Hamid Mir for his efforts to highlight the issue of missing persons.
Talking to media, Chaudhry Nisar said that it was incumbent upon every political party, including MQM, JUI-F. PML-Q and the ruling Pakistan People’s Party  to  play its due role in missing persons issue. He said that no society can survive without justice and everybody should raise to get the issue resolved.
