Supreme Court in action: Missing prisoners meet families at AG office


Islamabad: Families of missing prisoners met their loved once at the office of Attonrey General Pakistan Maulvi Anwarul Haq’s office after they were produced in the court in feeble condition by the authorities concerned.
The Supreme Court orders prompted the agencies to produce the seven prisoners, who were picked up along with four other detainees whose bodies were abandoned later.
The court on Friday had ordered that the prisoners be produced in the court on Feb 13 after that the prisoners who had been kept in Parachinar and Peshawar were shifted to Islamabad. The bench had remarked that if country’s prime minister could appear before the court then everyone could do so.
A three member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhey remarked that keeping the prisoners in FC camps were in violation of law.
