‘Private company running Business Express Train has defaulted’

Karachi: Five days after Business Express started its luxurious journey with rare media coverage, the railways authorities have threatened that they might cancel the contract of the private company responsible for running the affairs of the train as it has failed to pay stipulated amount of Rs300, 0000 daily.

According to reports, they said that the contract of the company would be annulled if the arrears of up to Rs15 million were not paid immediately.

The authorities said the private company was bound under the agreement signed to pay Rs300,000 daily, but, it had only submitted total amount of Rs5 million.

The train is being operated between Karachi and Lahore and the tender for the sale of tickets and facilities of food and other things has been given to the private company.
