NATO was allowed to use airspace on ‘humanitarian grounds’: Mukhtar

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Defense Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar on Tuesday said that that Pakistan had allowed US and NATO to use its airspace for supplies to their forces in Afghanistan on ‘humanitarian grounds.’
Talking to journalists here after a ceremony, the minister said that NATO has been allowed to supply only food stuff through the air space of Pakistan to Afghanistan.
To a question regarding extension in service of Pakistan Air Force Chief, Rao Qamar Suleman, he said that the decision to grant extension to the air chief was decided a step beyond him, adding that he just moved summary for the purpose.
On the occasion, when US embassy’s chargé d’affaires was asked whether US was going to apologize to Pakistan over the last year’s attack on Salala check post, he said that within days the situation would be clear.
