Islamabad: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that he will step down if the Supreme Court convicts him in contempt case.
Talking to Al Jazeera television, Gilani said President Zardari was member of the Parliament and he was elected by the four provincial assemblies, senate and National Assembly.
He said that President Zardari had immunity in Pakistan and around the world.
He said that only the democratic government was running the country, adding that he had good relations with the military.
Talking about Abbottabad operation he said he was of the view that the CIA conducted Abbottabad operation in coordination with the ISI so termed it as great victory. He said he later informed that the operation was a unilateral.
Prime Minister Gilani said that the operation was against Pakistan’s sovereignty. “We did not allowed US to fly drones from Pakistan. Drones are counterproductive,” the PM said.
He said Pakistan was reconsidering the relations with US and Nato, adding that parliament would decid about reopening of the Nato supply routes.
The PM said Afghanistan should be included in Afghan peace efforts.
