Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan successfully underwent abdominal surgery at a hospital in Mumbai on Saturday, his son Abhishek Bachchan said.
Amitabh has a history of stomach ailments since his intestinal injury on the set of 1982 film Coolie, was admitted to the Seven Hills hospital in suburban Andheri.
The actor was wheeled into the OT at 09:30 in the morning today. Following the surgery, Abhishek tweeted that all was well.
“My stomach which has already been the bed of many complicated battles in the past, shall have to entertain this as well,” Amitabh twitted on Thursday
Before leaving for the hospital, Big B last night tweeted, “Set now for another trip to Hospital .. a destination that invites me more often than I would like ..”
Actor Abhishek Bachchan, thanked all for praying for his father and tweeted, “Thank you all for your wishes and prayers. The surgery went off well and dad is now in the room resting.”
